Philip Sherburne in his recommendations of the week:

"{...} This new album from Switzerland’s Manuel Troller certainly falls under that umbrella {experimental guitar music}, though it’s much more, too. While the relatively short solo guitar piece “DNA” reminds me of Gastr del Sol at their most emotionally direct, it’s the three-part “Halcyon Future” that’s the real showstopper here: a churning, chugging fantasia for overdubbed guitars and acoustic drums (courtesy Mario Hänni), as well as, eventually, trombone (Michael flury) and soprano sax (Hans Koch) that begins with trim, staccato plucks and just grows and grows and grows, surging and swelling.{...} It’s a wild ride, a breathtaking slalom between abandon and control."

The WIRE - Rewind 2018

Thank you Marc Masters for your words on "Vanishing Points" in The WIRE's Rewind 2018 issue:

"Vanishing Points, his solo debut for three:four, is a near perfect realisation of minimalist guitar potential, particularly the 18 minute track “Wormhole”, a masterful journey into the hypnotic powers of string cycling.“

This series will happen in various rooms at Südpol - depending on the size of the room, tickets will sometimes be limited to a small amount.
